Missoula Pet Friendly Events - September

The 'Ber months are starting and I am sure most of us are excited for the cooler weather, the end of fire season and a little down time after a busy exciting summer! If you're still looking to get out with your pet, or meet some pets to cuddle with this September here are a list of some fun events that are happening around Missoula and down the Bitterroot!

📖 Read with Dogs!

When: Tuesday, September 1st at 3:30pm 

Where: Missoula Public Library

Registered Pet Partners Therapy Dog teams are just waiting for your child to read them a book. You can choose a favorite book from home or one of the libraries picture books. This program is great for hesitant readers or kids who just love dogs. Learn more here!

🐎 Horse Farm Tour and Storytelling Event

When: Friday, September 4 6:30pm-8:30pm ($20)

Where: 1348 Haystack Lane, Stevensville

Calling all horse enthusiasts- we're sharing management and grazing strategies across counties and fence lines! It's the 2nd Annual Horse Farm Tour & Storytelling Event for Western Montana equestrians! This might not be a place to bring your dog but if you own horses, thinking about owning horses or just want to learn more this is a great place to start! Learn more here!

🎢 Ravalli County Fair

When: Wednesday September 2-6th

Where: Hamilton Fairgrounds

The end of the summer brings the Ravalli County Fair. With 4H, dog agility (10am on the 4th), herding dog demonstrations (11am on the 4th) and more! Learn more here!

🌲 Trails to Hit This Month

September has plenty of animal events but not too many that are dog friendly so you may want to check out an easy hike, or a patio friendly restaraunt. Here are some of our favorites!

• Waterworks Hill. Head over to this voice command, pet friendly trail. The views of Missoula from the top are unmatched and as the weather starts to cool off it's a great hike to enjoy some sunshine!

• Kim Williams Trail. Take a stroll along the Clark Fork, either right next to downtown or head past Jacobs Island dog park and follow the dirt path for as long as you'd like, and if its warm enough take a dip in the river!

• Iron Horse Brew Pub. Afterwards head over to The Iron Horse and sit out front with your pup to enjoy some of their amazing food and a cold beverage!
