August Pet of the Month: OTIS

Congratulations Otis for being our August Pet of the Month! Otis is a 6 year old Standard Schnauzer and he has been a long time client of ours and we all adore him!

Whether he's in his cute little winter coat, lounging on his couch when we arrive or trotting along during our walks he is always one of our favorite faces to see. Otis gets 3 recurring half an hour walks every week while his family is off at work or school and it really helps break the day up so that he doesn't get too stir crazy. He is such a handsome boy... I mean who doesn't love a bearded man??

Here are just a few reasons why Otis is anything but "standard":

• The Couch Potato Compromise: Standard Schnauzers are known for their high energy and working intelligence, but Otis likes to balance his athletic prowess with some serious leisure time. There are days when we turn up for his adventure, and Otis looks at us, looks at the couch, and decides that he needs a little midday snuggle time before we head out on the pavement. Hey, a guy needs his beauty rest!

  

• The Ultimate Deer Chaser: When he is out and about, Otis is fully tuned into nature. He would gladly challenge the local wildlife to a footrace but we make sure he continues to be a well mannered canine of society so he now knows we can look but can't lunge! The Missoula deer population definitely keeps him on high alert though.

  
  

• The Post-Towel-Off Zoomie Champion: Nothing unlocks Otis’s pure, unadulterated joy quite like getting dried off. He transforms from a dignified, bearded gentleman into a furry blur of absolute chaos, tearing around with the ultimate case of the post-dry-off zoomies.

His mom had the best things to say about him:

Otis is such a good boy! While as a standard schnauzer he can be stubborn and hyper focused on his job of guarding, he is also super smart, easily trained, dedicated to those who love him and full of energy!! He is so great on leash walks and continues to work hard on ignoring the deer he so badly wants to chase!

We are so thankful for his walkers and the love you give him each day!! Thanks for all you do.

Otis is the perfect mix of stubborn, sweet, athletic, and lazy, all wrapped up in a handsome, medium-sized package. We are so lucky to have him as part of the All Around Adventures pack, and we couldn't think of a better pup to celebrate this August.
